I hope everyone is having a fantastic week so far.
And a quick note regarding the exhibition projects in grade six…

· Re-registration is now open to the public; if you have not submitted your package – please do so as soon as possible and reach out with any questions.
· Forms were sent home regarding our upcoming Wizard of Ozproduction. It will cost $15 per student (not in a main role) for costumes. These forms are overdue.
· We are now wearing full summer uniforms. A reminder:
o Black dress shoes
o Navy blue socks
o Grey St. Jude’s pants
o Short sleeve button up white polo shirt (tucked in)
French – In the morning, we had French with Mme. Rawan, which you can read about on her blog (https://mmerawansja.blogspot.com).
Inquiry into Coding – Today, we started exploring scratch and starting to use all of the functions inside of scratch. We will be starting our first coding mini-project tomorrow!
After lunch, we went over to the dome to rehearse our performance for The Wizard of Oz.
Inquiry into Language – During language, we started exploring different newspaper articles. We read a few articles about: free comic books, black holes, Notre Dame, recycling, and chess. What we learned is that all of these articles have things in common:
· Catchy titles
· Relevant pictures
· Relevant quotations
· Questions being answered:
o What?àWhat happened?
o Where?àWhere did this take place?
o When?àWhen did this take place?
o How?àHow did this come about?
o Why?àWhy did this happen?
o Who?àWho was involved?
Tomorrow, we will continue our inquiry and learn a bit more about writing newspaper articles.
For homework:
· Read chapter 18 of Hatchet (due tomorrow)
· Practice using Scratch
· BRING DEVICES
All homework for the day is placed here, but time may have been given in class to complete this work.
As always, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns by email, and I will respond as quickly as possible.
Mr. Conte
