Tuesday, May 28th

I hope everyone is having an excellent week so far. Our weather has taken a turn for the worse, but it looks like it’s supposed to get better, so that’s great.

A message from your friendly neighbourhood librarian…

A couple of quick reminders:
·      Tomorrow is a Day 3.
·      Aftercare invoices are overdue. They were due Wednesday, May 15th; if you are unsure if you have any owing amount, please email Ms. Chiappetta at echiappetta@stjudesacademy.com
·      Re-registration is now open to the public; if you have not submitted your package – please do so as soon as possible and reach out with any questions.
·      We are now wearing full summer uniforms. A reminder:
o  Black dress shoes
o  Navy blue socks
o  Grey St. Jude’s pants
o  Short sleeve button up white polo shirt (tucked in)

Inquiry into Coding – We continued to work on our racing project today. Those who were finished worked on mini-project #6, which is our last mini-project. They must create a maze!

French – In the afternoon, we had French with Mme. Rawan, which you can read about on her blog (https://mmerawansja.blogspot.com).

Inquiry into Math – Today, we started an investigation. Students all worked in pairs, and walked pre-set distances of 5 metres, 10 metres, 15 metres, and 20 metres. During this, their partner timed them to see how long it took them to walk each distance. We then took our information and graphed it. Tonight, students need to find a pattern with their information and try and find a relationship between distance and time.

Gym – The students ended the day doing gym with Mr. Orr, which you can read about on his blog (http://tysonorr.blogspot.com).

For homework:
·      Spelling lesson 33 (due tomorrow)
·      Mini-project #6 (due Thursday)
·      Find a pattern from math activity (due tomorrow)
·      Read & sign summative package (due Thursday)
All homework for the day is placed here, but time may have been given in class to complete this work.

As always, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns by email, and I will respond as quickly as possible.

Mr. Conte
