Good afternoon everyone!
Happy gloomy Tuesday.
We started our morning by taking a
trip to Old Pro Golfing Range to play some golf. We’ve got quite a few natural golfers
in grade 5, and a few who are afraid of the ball.
In the afternoon, we had French,
which you can read about on Mme. Rawan’s blog (link on the left).
Inquiry into Math – We had our
pre-assessment for our next unit, which is number patterns.
Inquiry into Language – After our
second recess and lunch, we continued our research for International Day – we
are researching Greece. Today, we finalized our good copies and pictures so
that we can create our board tomorrow!
For homework:
A couple of quick reminders:
- · A letter was sent home regarding the Caribou math contest. This is an optional contest for those who wish to take part in a math challenge. Please feel free to read through and email with any questions.
- · A letter was sent home regarding upcoming unit phone calls. Please fill out and return to me by sometime next week so I can know when/how best to contact you.
- · This Thursday, we have our International Day. We will open the doors to parents at 2:30 to come and explore different countries in our classrooms.
- · This upcoming Friday, October 5th, we have a P.D. day, and Monday is Thanksgiving, so students have an extra long weekend.
- · Starting next week, students need to wear their winter uniform, so ALL 7 pieces.
- · We will start bussing for gym this upcoming Thursday – students need to be on time, as the bus will be boarding and leaving at 9 a.m.
As always, please feel free to
reach out to me with any questions or concerns by email, and I will respond as
quickly as possible.
