Art
Learning Goal: Students will practice using techniques in caricature portraits.
Students will view the following links and draw caricatures that they have not yet attempted:
Students will share their work with the class by showing their art on Zoom. We will focus on techniques, having fun, and drawing comic portraits. Some tips are: Identify prominent features in the subject’s face e.g. forehead, eyebrows, nose, teeth, chin, strong jaw. Exaggerate these features in your drawing. Necks are usually skinny in caricatures (like a bobblehead). Students who have completed the practice portraits should begin working on their caricature self-portrait. These are due on Thursday and will be used to create a class picture for the cover of our class’ anthology.
Success Criteria: My caricature…
· is a good likeness of me
· is drawn in black marker with realistic shading in black and grey for the darker areas of my face
· exaggerates my prominent features
· is representative of caricature art by being comic

Work that is not completed during class time will need to be completed as homework. Students should put more focus into reading at this time. It is an expectation that students are reading between 30 and 60 minutes per day.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out so I can clarify and assist.
