Inquiry into Math – Today, we reviewed what we have learned so far in our unit: perimeter of polygons, area of rectangles, parallelograms, and triangles.
· Perimeter of a Rectangle – P = (l + w) x 2
· Area of a Rectangle – A = l x w
· Area of a Parallelogram – A = b x h
· Area of a Triangle – A = (b x h) / 2
We also did a quick review on how to multiply two decimals. These concepts will help us with our next set of concepts when we learn how to calculate the volume and surface area of triangular prisms on Thursday and Friday.
Inquiry into Language – We discussed our literature circle expectations for this week. Students will read chapters 18 & 19 of Shannen and the Dream for a Schooland complete their second role.
Students spent the remainder of the day working on their spelling lesson for the week.
For homework:

· Literature circles week 2 (due Friday)
All homework for the day is placed here, but time may have been given in class to complete this work.
As always, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns by email, and I will respond as quickly as possible.
