Good morning everyone!
Can believe how far we’ve come in our online learning?! Five weeks ago, you first heard we would go ahead with exhibition as planned online. Now, here we are with our planners filled and moving on to the last stage – the final presentation. If you are not there yet, that’s okay! The final presentation is happening on Friday, May 8th, so there is still time. That being said, we need to ensure time is being used effectively.
WORD OF THE DAY: (A Message from the Deforestation group)
Our Exhibition topic is Deforestation and we are going to educate you on keywords about deforestation. We will be showing you a WORD OF THE DAY beginning on Monday, April 27th, to Friday, May 1st. We hope that you understand and learn more about our topic.
Today’s word of the day is Deforestation, which means cutting, clearing or removal of a forest or group of trees from the land which is then changed to a different use such as buildings, paper, furniture, etc. Deforestation can involve changing forests to farms, ranches, or urban use. Deforestation occurs mostly in tropical rainforests.

Please take time to read and listen to Pooshne and Eva’s action component message about social media:
Good Morning, friendly peers and thoughtful teachers.
We would like to talk to you about a challenge. We will have a photo challenge:
Get off your device and take a walk, ride a bike or do some stretching at home but mainly get off your device and take a picture.
If you have Instagram post it and tag us in your post @workingwithsocialmedia and use the hash-tag #areyousocialmediasmart?
If you don’t have social media email it to Pooshne (pkotla@stjudesacademy.com) or to Eva (ekumar@stjudesacademy.com).
You stand a chance of winning a prize.
GOOD LUCK SJA😊

Work that is not completed during class time will need to be completed as homework. Students should put more focus into reading at this time. It is an expectation that students are reading between 30 and 60 minutes per day.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out so I can clarify and assist.
