Good Morning, friendly peers and thoughtful teachers.
We would like to talk to you about a challenge. We will have a photo challenge:
Get off your device and take a walk, ride a bike or do some stretching at home but mainly get off your device and take a picture.
If you have Instagram post it and tag us in your post @workingwithsocialmedia and use the hash-tag #areyousocialmediasmart?
If you don’t have social media email it to Pooshne (pkotla@stjudesacademy.com) or to Eva (ekumar@stjudesacademy.com).
You stand a chance of winning a prize.
GOOD LUCK SJA😊
Please take time to read Sofia and Aamna’s Action Component Daily Blog Messages About Homeless and Neglected Children
Friday: Worldwide
Homeless Children: Homeless kids are among the most vulnerable groups in high-income countries for example in 2019 there were 647 258 homeless people in the US whereas in the UK there were 4751 homeless people. Looking at the UK in 2019 versus what UK’s percentage was in 2003(7.7%) the UK is doing something to help the homeless kids and adults that many countries like America, Germany, Belgium, Italy, and even Canda aren’t doing.
Neglected Children: Nearly 700000 children were neglected in the US annually, an estimated 683 000 children were reported neglected in 2015, and in 2015 about 1670 children died because of abuse and neglect in America. In 2003, an estimated 235 315 were neglected in Canada. An estimated 57 000 children were victims of neglect in the year 2000 worldwide.
A few messages from SJA:

It’s play time and it’s time to build! Get out your Lego and start to build.  If you’re in JK-1, please build us your absolute best Birthday Cake!  If you’re in 2-6, please build us a tower that’s at least 60cm (2’) tall and can stand on its own.  As always, don’t forget to take a video of your final piece and send it to Mr. Neal sneal@stjudesacademy.com (or if your video is too big, send it via wetransfer.com)

Please refer to the schedule below to know where to be and what document to be working on at various times of the day.

During the exhibition process, specialist teachers (Mr. Orr, Mr. Oliver, Mme. Stella) will help facilitate learning for each of the exhibition groups during their scheduled class times. Today’s Learning Goal # 3: Reflect on the exhibition process and your learning - journal writing

When writing your daily journal entry, try to answer 3 or 4 of the questions provided in the paragraph below.

In the space provided for daily journal entries, write a journal entry that describes what you have learned in the past week about your issue. What are some of the challenges and successes you have dealt with. What are your areas of strength as an IB learner? What are your areas of weakness? What will you do to address these areas? Do you and your group members have any ideas on how to take action? What are you worried about and what still needs to be done?

Limit each journal entry, so that it does not flow over to the next page.
