Monday, April 29th

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I am not so happy that this cold weather has come back. A reminder that we are rock climbing tomorrow, so students should come to school in gym clothes for the day. Any students going to the silent dance can bring casual clothes to change into after the fact.

And a quick note regarding the exhibition projects in grade six…

A couple of quick reminders:
·      Tomorrow is a Day 2.
·      Aftercare invoices were due Monday, April 15th; if you are unsure if you have any owing amount, please email Ms. Chiappetta at echiappetta@stjudesacademy.com
·      Re-registration is now open to the public; if you have not submitted your package – please do so as soon as possible and reach out with any questions.
·      Forms were sent home regarding our upcoming Wizard of Ozproduction. It will cost $15 per student (not in a main role) for costumes. These forms are overdue.
·      We are now wearing full summer uniforms. A reminder:
o  Black dress shoes
o  Navy blue socks
o  Grey St. Jude’s pants
o  Short sleeve button up white polo shirt (tucked in)

French – In the morning, we had French with Mme. Rawan, which you can read about on her blog (https://mmerawansja.blogspot.com).

Inquiry into Language – We worked on our spelling corrections for lesson 28 and started working on spelling lesson 29, which is a continuation of our learning on suffixes.

We rehearsed for our upcoming performance of The Wizard of Ozon the actual stage today! Everything is coming together. And that ended our morning.

In the afternoon, we started off by watching other classes perform their scene from The Wizard of Oz.

Inquiry into Biodiversity – We finished listening to our podcast presentation summative tasks.

Inquiry into Math – Today, we learned about congruent and similar figures. Congruent figures are figures that have all equal corresponding side lengths and angles. Similar figures are figures that have equal corresponding angles, and where the side lengths of one figure can multiplied/divided by the same number to get the corresponding side lengths of the second figure.

For homework:
·      MMS Pg. 100-103 (due Wednesday)
·      Spelling lesson 29 (due Wednesday)
·      Read chapter 16 of Hatchet (due tomorrow)
·      Literature circles self-assessment (due Wednesday)
All homework for the day is placed here, but time may have been given in class to complete this work.

As always, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns by email, and I will respond as quickly as possible.

Mr. Conte
