Wednesday, November 21st


I hope everyone is having a great week so far.

Gym – The students started the day doing gym with Mr. Orr, which you can read about on his blog (http://tysonorr.blogspot.com)

Inquiry into Ancient Civilizations – Today, we spent our 20 minutes discussing the design process and how it works. It has four steps:
·      Investigate
o  Identify the problem
o  Decide on the design
o  Formulate the design
·      Plan
o  Design the product
o  Plan the product
·      Create
o  Use appropriate equipment
o  Follow the plan
o  Create the product
·      Evaluate
o  Evaluate the product
o  Evaluate the process
Music – Then, we had music with Mr. Oliver, which you can read about on his blog (https://mrolivermusicclass.blogspot.com).

French – In the afternoon, we had French with Mme. Rawan, which you can read about on her blog (https://mmerawansja.blogspot.com).

Inquiry into Math – Today, we spent our time working on our review for our Geometry unit, which we will be taking up tomorrow. This unit has consisted of:
·      Investigating angles
·      Classifying shapes
·      Constructing figures
·      Nets of objects









Our final unit test is Friday.

Inquiry into Ancient Civilizations – We worked on our summative today in class researching the ancient artefacts we will be replicating. We are going to be completing our writing portion this week and then beginning our replicas.










For homework:

All homework for the day is placed here, but time may have been given in class to complete this work.

A couple of quick reminders:
·      The lunch website opened Friday for the month of December, and will close on November 30that 3 p.m. sharp. The special for the month is spaghetti and meatballs.
·      Pictures were sent home last Tuesday. The due date to order any pictures is TOMORROW Thursday, November 22nd.
·      Poinsettia plant forms were sent home last week! Oakwood is doing a fundraiser for this month of November. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
·      Students need to wear their winter uniform, so ALL 7 pieces. The expectation is full winter uniform every day.
o  Black leather dress shoes
o  Navy blue socks
o  St. Jude’s grey pants or skirts
o  St. Jude’s button up white shirt (long sleeve)
o  St. Jude’s sweater vest
o  Academic tie (Monday-Thursday) & House Colour Tie (Friday)
o  St. Jude’s Blazer
