I hope you all had an enjoyable and relaxing weekend.
Gym – The students started the day doing gym with Mr. Orr, which you can read about on his blog (http://tysonorr.blogspot.com)
Inquiry into Language – We recited our Guy Fawkespoems for house points for the class!
Music – Then, we had music with Mr. Oliver, which you can read about on his blog (https://mrolivermusicclass.blogspot.com).
French - Then, we had French with Mme. Rawan, which you can read about on her blog (https://mmerawansja.blogspot.com).
Inquiry into Math – Today, we completed our final lesson of our measurement unit, which is relating units of mass. We talked about milligrams, grams, kilograms, and tonnes. To move to the heavier unit of mass from the last, you divide by 1000. To get to the lighter units from the previous one, you multiply by 1000.
After our discussion, the students worked on the Math Makes Sense workbooks homework. Our math review went home today, and we will be working on it tomorrow.
Inquiry into Ancient Civilizations – Today, we did some research to inquire about Greek words that were used in Ancient Greece, and which of them we still used today! We talked about what the Ancient Greeks ate, which is very similar to foods we have today. We also talked about famous Greeks, and the contributions they have made to our modern society. The more we inquire into Ancient Civilizations, the more we are seeing the impact these societies have ahd on ours.
