- the third part of speech - pronoun, the noun substitute
-A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun
-Instead of repeating the proper noun, use a pronoun to make a sentence more natural
-An antecedent is the noun for which a pronoun stands
-There are various kinds of pronouns
-Pronouns which refer mainly to persons are called personal pronouns
-The three forms that a pronoun takes to indicate its grammatical use are called the pronouns three cases
-Compound pronouns

-The fourth part of speech - adjective
-An adjective is a word that modifies a noun or a pronoun
-It answers the questions which one, what kind, how many, how much, or whose
-An adjective makes the meaning of a noun or pronoun more specific by providing more information
-Most adjectives come before the noun they modify
-In some sentences, adjectives come after linking verbs and modify the subject
