Good morning everyone!
By now you should have added your contribution to the Grade 6 graduation speech. The following students have been selected to work on editing the speech today and tomorrow form 2 pm – 3:30 pm: Emana, Jasmeet, Ronit, Sethumi, Caitlyn, and Joshua. We will be asking you all if you want a speaking part tomorrow. Take some time to think and decide on this.
We will begin our day with a Lower School assembly on Zoom at 8:45:

Here are some tips and advice as you prepare your lessons for other classes later this week:
1. Set up the Zoom meeting link for your lesson and include it in your email to the host teacher
2. For the Zoom link, ensure the SJA authentication required is checked to prevent non-SJA students from entering the meeting
3. Assign your group partners are co-hosts in case you get bumped out of the call.
4. When you email the host teacher, confirm the day and time of the lesson. Let the teacher know how long the lesson will be and if the students need to be ready to play a game, e.g. Kahoot!
5. Be on time, in fact arrive early.
6. Let your family know you are presenting and arrange for a quiet surrounding while you teach.
7. Welcome the student and teacher guests when they join your Zoom call and give them instructions, e.g. video on/off, mute/unmute, etc.
8. Introduce yourselves and let them know what your lesson is about and what to expect, e.g. a skit and then a presentation, etc.
9. Talk slowly and clearly.
10. Look at the camera.
11. Allow for Q & A and a discussion at the end of your lesson.
12. Thank the guests for allowing you to have their class time to present a lesson.
A few messages from SJA:
Daily Challenge – Treat your family to supper this week by winning first place in our weekly challenges! Get a $50 Uber Eats dinner delivered courtesy of St. Jude’s – winner will be announced on June 23 during morning assembly.
Choose 4 of these challenges and send Mr. Neal your videos and pictures:
1. Play checkers with a parent or sibling – send a picture whether you win or lose!
2. Make a Kleenex Box Monster! See attached picture.
3. It’s time to get lean and mean – as an airplane that is! Make your best paper airplane and see how far it goes.
4. “I can jump THIS high!” show us how high you can jump – but only on one foot!
5. Blow up a balloon and hop 10 feet with it between your legs. Bonus points if you pop it with your knees at the end.
6. Help clean the house! Get two towels (ask Mom or Dad which ones) and skate along the floor polishing it to a brilliant shine!
7. It’s time for a wheel barrow race. Get a parent or sibling to hold your legs up and you race on your hands! You need to go at least 10 feet in one direction and then back again.
Have fun everyone!

ABCs of Grade 6
Reflect on your Grade 6 year. Prepare a slideshow with a partner or group to represent this year.
· Use each letter of the alphabet
· Each slide gets its own letter, e.g. Slide 1: Letter A, Slide 2: Letter B, etc
·
Each letter
represents something about this year, e.g. A is for aboriginal people who
were the first to arrive on the American continent
·
Add a picture to
each slide. Hint: visit our class blog to find pictures
·
If there is a time,
record a narration and automate the slideshow.
You will share your
slideshow with the class on the last day of school Tuesday, June 30th.

Work that is not completed during class time will need to be completed as homework. Students should put more focus into reading at this time. It is an expectation that students are reading between 30 and 60 minutes per day.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out so I can clarify and assist.
