Remember to update your parents about all we are discussing during our inquiry unit. They are the most important ‘trusted adults’ in your lives.

A few messages from SJA:

Daily Challenge – It’s time to get outside and have some fun! This week we’re giving you a list of 7 activities – to win you need to do 4 of them. You choose your challenges and we’ll judge the winner.

We’re also changing up the prize! The winner gets to choose any video game of their choice (so long as we can order on Amazon)! We’ll have it shipped to your house as soon as possible!

Don’t forget to send your entries to Mr. Neal: sneal@stjudesacademy.com

Here are your activity choices:
·      Draw a picture of your favourite WINTER activity with sidewalk chalk on the sidewalk or driveway.
·      Draw a hopscotch board and do it forwards and backwards (if it’s rainy or you want to do it indoors, you can always draw your hopscotch board with masking tape on the floor)
·      Kick a ball into a net (don’t worry, a net can any two things marking a 5 foot spread) – but here’s the challenge: do it from as far back as possible. Tell us how far back you were when it when in!
·      Take a spoon and an egg (feel free to use hardboiled, but not necessary). Run 15 feet in one direction then back again while balancing the egg in the spoon.
·      Neighbourhood search.  With you parent’s permission (and hopefully with their attendance) go for a walk and take pictures of you with the following things:
·      A stop sign,
·      Your street name sign
·      A blue flower,
·      Something with a tail,
·      Something round,
·      A fire hydrant
·      It’s LIMBO time! Get help from parents or siblings: do some limbo and show us how low you can go!
·      Is it a rainy day? Put on your rain gear and go jump in some puddles!  Extra points to the students who makes the biggest splash!
·      Bonus Idea (in case it doesn’t rain): Fly a kite! Let’s see how high you can make it go!!

Have fun everyone! I can’t wait to see what you do.

Art

Students will work on their Terabithia Fantastical Forest Scene. Before they begin, collaboratively generate the criteria with the class. Work on Zoom so students can engage in conversations and share their work with each other.

Work that is not completed during class time will need to be completed as homework. Students should put more focus into reading at this time. It is an expectation that students are reading between 30 and 60 minutes per day.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out so I can clarify and assist.
