I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow for our student led conferences.
A couple of quick reminders:
· Tomorrow is Day 4.
· Permission forms and waiver forms were sent home last week for our upcoming ski trips in the new year. These must be returned and signed by Tuesday, December 11thfor those attending.
· Aftercare invoices are due on December 15th; if you are unsure if you have any owing amount, please email Ms. Chiappetta at echiappetta@stjudesacademy.com
This morning, we started out with our reading buddies. We always have so much fun reading with the little ones!
After this, we went back to class and had some reflection time. We used this time to reflect on our term so far. We are excited to share everything tomorrow during our student led conferences.
French – In the afternoon, we had French with Mme. Rawan, which you can read about on her blog (https://mmerawansja.blogspot.com).
Inquiry into Language – We worked on our DRAs for Term Two. We will be completing them tomorrow.
Inquiry into the Human Body – We reviewed our worksheets from yesterday as a class. We now know many of the bones in the human body.
Inquiry into Math – Today, we learned how to multiply decimals by 10, 100, 1000, and 10000. It’s actually super easy! We have a rule: When multiplying decimals by multiples of 10, however many zeros there are, you move the decimal that many places to the right. For example:
· 1.779 x 10 = 17.79 (Decimal move one space to the right)
· 1.779 x 100 = 177.9 (Decimal moves two spaces to the right)
· 1.779 x 1000 = 1779 (Decimal moves three spaces to the right)
· 1.779 x 10000 = 17790 (Decimal moves four spaces to the right)
For homework:
· Read for 20 minutes.
· Practice for the Christmas concert
· Spelling Lesson 13 (due tomorrow)
· MMS Pg. 56 – 57 (due Thursday)
· French: Show copybooks and duo tangs to your parents.
All homework for the day is placed here, but time may have been given in class to complete this work.
As always, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns by email, and I will respond as quickly as possible.
Mr. Conte
