Our week is almost over, and what a busy week it’s been!
A couple of quick reminders:
· Tomorrow is Day 4.
· The lunch website has opened for the month of January – it will close on December 19that 3 p.m. The special for the month of January is French Toast with fruit. Please keep in mind the grade five classes are going skiing on Wednesday, January 23rd, so lunches should not be ordered for that day.
· Aftercare invoices are due on December 15th; if you are unsure if you have any owing amount, please email Ms. Chiappetta at echiappetta@stjudesacademy.com
· Pictures were sent home yesterday for the students who ordered them.
Inquiry into Math – Today, we started with taking up our math review. The final assessment for this unit (Decimals/Fractions) is tomorrow.
Inquiry into Language – We read our persuasive announcements for the class today during language. Tomorrow, we will write our term two OWA. A reminder:
1. O – Opinion
2. R – Reasons (3 of them)
3. E – Examples (2-3 examples per reason)
4. O – Opinion (restated differently)
There should be five paragraphs, with indentation, and proper spelling and grammar.
Inquiry into the Human Body – We built a model of the heart today for the human body to conclude our understanding of the circulatory system.
We also rehearsed for the Christmas concert in the morning.
French – In the afternoon, we had French with Mme. Rawan, which you can read about on her blog (https://mmerawansja.blogspot.com).
In the afternoon, we worked on our props for the Christmas concert (no pictures as it is a surprise). We also attended the Oakwood Christmas concert.
For homework:
· Study for the math test tomorrow
· Study for the spelling test tomorrow (words on my blog)
· Study for the OWA
All homework for the day is placed here, but time may have been given in class to complete this work.
As always, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns by email, and I will respond as quickly as possible.
Mr. Conte
