Thursday, December 6th

I look forward to seeing everyone tonight at the student led conferences!

A couple of quick reminders:
·      Tomorrow is Day 5.
·      Permission forms and waiver forms were sent home last week for our upcoming ski trips in the new year. These must be returned and signed by Tuesday, December 11thfor those attending.
·      Aftercare invoices are due on December 15th; if you are unsure if you have any owing amount, please email Ms. Chiappetta at echiappetta@stjudesacademy.com
Inquiry into Math – Today, we learned how to divide decimals by 10, 100, 1000, and 10000. It’s actually super easy! We have a rule: When dividing decimals by multiples of 10, however many zeros there are, you move the decimal that many places to the left. For example:
·      17790 / 10 = 1779 (Decimal move one space to the left)
·      17790 / 100 = 177.9 (Decimal moves two spaces to the left)
·      17790 / 1000 = 17.79 (Decimal moves three spaces to the left)
·      17790 / 10000 = 1.779 (Decimal moves four spaces to the left)

After this, we had some reflection time to practice for the student led conferences tonight.

Music – We practiced our Christmas concert song with Mr. Oliver today. It’s coming along very well.

Inquiry into the Human Body – We worked together as a class to identify different bones in the body, and we worked on common sayings related to the body.

After this, we spent the remainder of the afternoon building our own skeletons! We had so much fun, and made such a mess.

For homework:
·      Read for 20 minutes.
·      Practice for the Christmas concert
·      Study for spelling test (tomorrow)
·      MMS Pg. 56 – 59 (due Friday)
All homework for the day is placed here, but time may have been given in class to complete this work.

As always, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns by email, and I will respond as quickly as possible.

Mr. Conte
